LIMN is a product of DIAL LLC (“DIAL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information across the LIMN website (limnsearch.com), our license checkout, and the LIMN desktop application.

The app is on-device by design

LIMN is a local-first desktop application. Your images, video, the embedding index LIMN builds, and your search queries are processed and stored entirely on your own machine. The app may connect to download its engine and models, activate or validate a license, and check for updates. Those requests do not include your library, your index, or your searches. We never see your files.

What the website & checkout collect

• License purchases: When you buy a license, our payment processor collects the information needed to complete the transaction (name, email, billing details). We retain your email and license/order records to deliver and support your license.
• Contact & sales inquiries: If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond.
• Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics on the marketing site (pages visited, general region). This is not linked to your library or your searches.
• Downloads, licensing & updates: Setup, activation, license validation, and update checks make network requests. They transfer software or model files and limited license/version information, never your images, video, index, or search queries.

What we do not do

• We do not upload, scan, or index your images or video on our servers.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not track you across other websites.
• We do not require an account to use the app offline.

Confidential work

Local indexing can help freelancers and small studios keep client and business images and video on systems they control. LIMN does not by itself make you compliant with any law, contract, or industry standard; you remain responsible for access controls, backups, device security, and any obligations that apply to your work.

Data retention

License and order records are retained as long as necessary to support your license and meet legal/accounting obligations. Inquiry emails are retained as needed to handle your request. Website analytics are aggregated and anonymized.

Your rights

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (e.g., your license/order record).
• Request correction or deletion of that data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Opt out of non-essential analytics via your browser or cookie settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated revision date.
