This Privacy Policy explains how LIMN handles information across our website (limnsearch.com), our license checkout, and the LIMN desktop application.

The app is on-device by design

LIMN is a local-first desktop application. Your images, video, the embedding index LIMN builds, and your search queries are processed and stored entirely on your own machine. After the initial model download, the app does not transmit your library, your index, or your searches to us or any third party. We never see your files.

What the website & checkout collect

• License purchases: When you buy a license, our payment processor collects the information needed to complete the transaction (name, email, billing details). We retain your email and license/order records to deliver and support your license.
• Contact & sales inquiries: If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond.
• Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics on the marketing site (pages visited, general region). This is not linked to your library or your searches.
• Model downloads & updates: Fetching a model or an update is a network request to a download endpoint. It transfers the model files only — never your images or index.

What we do not do

• We do not upload, scan, or index your images or video on our servers.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not track you across other websites.
• We do not require an account to use the app offline.

Compliance contexts

Because indexing and search happen locally, LIMN is designed to fit environments with strict mandates — GDPR, HIPAA, and hard NDAs — where uploading unencrypted imagery to consumer platforms is not permitted. You remain the data controller for everything LIMN indexes on your machine.

Data retention

License and order records are retained as long as necessary to support your license and meet legal/accounting obligations. Inquiry emails are retained as needed to handle your request. Website analytics are aggregated and anonymized.

Your rights

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (e.g., your license/order record).
• Request correction or deletion of that data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Opt out of non-essential analytics via your browser or cookie settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated revision date.
